Hearty Beef Soup- crockpot

Soup is a staple here on the farm. This recipe takes very little prep time and will let you continue on your day without worrying about dinner. It is very easy to take the base recipe and change it for what vegetables are available or for your likes and dislikes.



1 Meaty Soupbone (frozen or thawed)

8 cups water

1 small onion chopped

2 cloves Garlic chopped

1 Tablespoon Salt

2 Teaspoons Ground Cumin

1/2 Teaspoon Italian seasoning


16oz frozen mixed veggies

1/2 cup sliced Mushrooms (optional)

2 cups cooked rice (I like to use a mix of brown rice and wild rice)

1/2 cup cooked lentils

  1. Place all ingredients in First list in crockpot and turn on low overnight or for at least 8hrs

  2. Remove bones and shred meat

  3. Add the rest of the ingredients in the morning or at least 1 hour before you eat. (you may need to add some water depending on how much evaporated)

Yes it is that simple!! Now relax and enjoy!
